Bayou Blue Council
We need to show
that we have the ability, ONE day, to get every Council in the Area to
participate. The GK or a proxy from EVERY Council needs to attend. We’d
love to also have the Membership Director, Program Director, Financial
Secretary and Deputy Grand Knight. Supreme is making this effort FOR us, we
owe it to our Order to take advantage.

Y.E.P
It is not too early to donate to the Y.E.P.
Program. Councils need to be aware that the Lecturer has to schedule a
speaker for Y.E.P. for credit. Your council can have Joel Ocmand, Y.E.P.
Chairman, Area Coordinator, District Deputy, Present or Past State Officers
or qualified speakers that can speak on this program. These guys are busy
throughout the year, so plan ahead. This program benefits the youth of our
state. It helps with the diocesan scouting program, CYLA, trophies for
soccer and free throw, the catholic youth centers of the colleges, etc. Help
the youth by donating to the Y.E.P Program.
Acompano Raffle Program
How are the Acompano ticket sales coming
along in your council? To make this program a success councils need to sell
as many tickets as possible. If you are in need of more tickets, please
contact Rick Vidrine 337-504-4077 or email:
rickvid@cox.net If
you have sold tickets, then please send the money and ticket stubs to

Worthy Grand Knight
We will hold our Fall
Area D meeting on Sunday, December 9, 2007, at Bayou Blue Council 7657.
The Area D Gumbo cookoff will also take place at this location on that date.
Each District Gumbo
winner is invited to participate in the Gumbo Cookoff. The rules for the
Area cookoff will be based on the rules for the State cookoff. The start
times and competition times will all be identical to the State competition.
This will allow all teams to have a “dress rehearsal” for the State
Competition. Teams taking part in the Area Competition must prepare BETWEEN
three and five gallons of gumbo.
Teams are responsible
for EVERYTHING needed. The Host Council will supply ONLY space for the team
to set up and prepare.
Cooking can begin at
7:30 AM, and must be completed by the 10:30 AM judging.
Teams must consist of
at least two and not more than four Brother Knights. Each Brother Knight
can ONLY be a member of ONE team.
Each team must
prepare between 3 to 5 gallons of Chicken, Sausage gumbo
Sausage can be ANY
ingredient in a casing
Each team must
provide and prepare a quantity of rice required to serve the quantity of
gumbo they have prepared.
After the
judging, all Gumbo and will be used to serve lunch to those in attendance.
The Host Council will charge a nominal fee of $4.00 per meal (first
beverage included). This fee will help cover the cost of hosting
the event, and the cost of awards for the 1st,
2nd and 3rd place Gumbo teams.
The business
meeting will begin promptly at 9:30 A.M.
All Brothers present
are welcome to attend the business meeting, but only the Grand Knight of
each Council or his proxy will be allowed to vote as required.
As Grand Knight, you
are asked to attend and represent your Council as the voting member. I also
ask that the Membership Director and Program Director (or Proxies) attend as
well.
I will be supplying
your District Deputy with a general agenda for the meeting that he can then
share with you in advance.
I look forward to
working with you in the coming year, and appreciate your help and support by
attending this critical gathering.
If you have /
use email, please send your email address and Council number to me at
