David Bakeler was the Louisiana Knights of Columbus State Deputy 1998 - 2000

David Bakeler was born in 1951 in Key West, Florida to Marie Mayer and Arthur Francis Bakeler.  He Lived in Harahan, Slidell, Bastrop and Lafayette through childhood and has lived in Lafayette since 1967.

David attended St. Paul in Covington and is a graduate of Cathedral-Carmel High School, Lafayette and attended USL.

Bakeler is married to Barbara Woods Bakeler and has three daughters: Amy Melissa, Laurie Emily, and Christie Ann Bakeler, all of Lafayette.

David joined the KC in 1971 in Lafayette Council  1286 and became a Fourth Degree Brother Knight in 1973 in Bishop DuBourg Assembly.  Has Served his council as Grand Knight, Warden, Financial Secretary and chairman of several committees.

He has served the State Council as State Council Activities Director, State Event Evaluation Chairman, Convention Registration Chairman, Area Coordinator, District Deputy, Squires Chairman, New Council Development Chairman and Camp Abbey Committee.

State Warden 1990 - 1992; State Advocate 1992 -1994;
State Treasurer 1994 -1996; State Secretary 1996 -1998;
Installed as State Deputy June 1998.
