"My greatest memories as state deputy were of the many personal visits made by my wife and I to councils around the state, and the warm and deep friendships made with brother knights and their families . . . Fraternally, our administration was very successful, with a record 29 new councils‑‑bringing us to 229 total -- and a net membership gain of 1,619. In 1985, we were cited for first place in our division in percentage gains. We also broke a number of records in our fraternal activities from 1984 - 86."
