Treasurer, Floyd Landry, Council No. 2807, Baton Rouge; State Warden,
George Strate, Jr., Council No. 1998, New Roads; State Advocate, E. L.

The order reached a membership peak in
Louisiana on May 1, 1952, with a total of 15,643, comprising 6,427
insurance members and 9,216 associate. This entitled the Louisiana
jurisdiction to three insurance delegates to the supreme convention and
five associate delegates in addition to the State Deputy and immediate
Past State Deputy, the maximum representation allowed any jurisdiction.
Chosen as insurance delegates were W. Russell Sharp, Covington; T. J.
Robichaux, Jeanerette; and W. J. Dumatrait, Lake Charles. Associate
delegates elected were Sidney Bowles, Lafayette; Percy Wimberly, Church
Point; A. J. Frederic, Sr., Gramercy; Edward W. Cruse, Alexandria; and Roy
Mattingly, Jennings.
Judge Swift, briefly addressing the Financial
Secretaries' Association, said that "no more important officer exists
in the Knights of Columbus" than the financial secretary. Current
officers were unanimously re‑elected: Chairman, C. T. Bienvenu, St.
Martinville; Vice Chairman, Van J. Landry, Bunkie; Warden, J. Gegenheimer,
Gretna; and Secretary, B. J. Dicharry, Gramercy.
After a conference with Bishop Jeanmard, the Rev.
Wilson J. Matt of Oakdale, who had served as Lafayette Diocesan Chaplain,
was appointed State Chaplain. He obtained the appointment of the Rev. A.
O. Sigur as Lafayette Diocesan Chaplain and the renaming of the Rev.
Joseph B. Gremillion and the Rev. Charles Murphy as Alexandria and New
Orleans Diocesan Chaplains, respectively.
