A They were the martyred boys
under two years of age, whom King

he feared would usurp his kingship.

adoration?
A It is prayer before the
Blessed Sacrament either reserved in the
tabernacle or exposed in a
monstrance, continued by successive
worshippers day and night

A It is the universal return to
life of all human beings, to occur soon
before the last judgment by
God’s almighty power. Each individual
soul will be reunited with
the self same body with which it was united
on earth.

to make a sin mortal?
A First, the thought, desire,
word, action or omission must be seriously
wrong.
Second, the sinner must be
mindful of the serious wrong.
Third, the sinner must fully
consent to it.
20 Q Who founded the Church and why?
A Jesus Christ founded the
Church just before His ascension, when He
commissioned the apostles to
make disciples of all nations. He
founded the Church in order
to bring all people to eternal salvation.

of the Catholic Church?
A That the Pope and the bishops
as lawful successor of the apostles,
have the power from Christ
Himself to teach, to sanctify, and to
govern the faithful in
spiritual matters.

Militant, the Church Suffering and
the Church Triumphant?
A The Church Militant is the
Church on earth, still struggling with sin
and temptation, and
therefore engaged in warfare with the world,
the flesh and the devil.
The Church Suffering is the
Church of all the faithful departed who
are saved but are still
being purified in purgatorial sufferings.
The Church Triumphant is the
Church of those in heavenly glory who
have triumphed over their
evil inclinations, the seductions of the
world, and the temptations
of the evil spirit.
23 Q How should we assist at Mass?
A We should assist at Mass with
reverence, attention, devotion, uniting
with the priest in offering
the Holy Sacrifice and receiving
Holy Communion.
24 Q Why do we pray?
A We pray to adore God,
expressing to Him our love and loyalty.
To thank him for His favors.
To obtain from him the
pardon of our sins and the remission of their
punishment, and to ask for
graces and blessings for ourselves and
others.

reserved?
A Gratitude, adoration and
devotion are due to the real presence of
Christ in the Blessed
Sacrament reserved. It is a powerful help to
prayer and service of
ourselves and others.

A A general term applied to
representation of the dead Christ in art.

A It is the branch of
theological studies that treats of the composition
and delivery of sermons,
homilies and other religious discourses
and instruction to the
faithful. It is required of all those who have
prepared for the priesthood
and the permanent diaconate.
28 Q What is the forgotten sin?
A Those grave sins which a
person would have confessed in the
sacrament of penance but
sincerely forgot. They are forgiven
with whatever sins are
confessed, with the provision that, should
they later be remembered,
they are then mentioned in a later
confession as having been
inadvertently forgotten.`
29 Q What is a Cathedral?
A The official church of a
bishop, where his permanent Episcopal
throne is erected. It is
the mother church of a diocese and its
clergy have precedence.
The cathedral must be
consecrated, and the date of consecration
and the date of its titular
feast must be observed.

A It is that part of theology
which seeks to establish the truth of the
Church’s teaching from the
evidence of Scripture, tradition, and the
analogy of faith, for
example, consistency with the whole body of
Catholic doctrine.

Birth?
A It is a popular expression for
Christ’s conception and birth of
a unique mother, Mary.
Taught by all the creeds of Christendom,
it is an article of faith
and a basic norm of Christian orthodoxy.

A The vow by which a person
freely gives up the right to marriage, and
adds the obligation of the
virtue of religion to the duty of abstaining
from all voluntary
indulgence of sexual pleasure.

feet of people on Holy Thursday?
A Because it was an action of
Christ at the Last Supper when he washed
the feet of the his
disciples to teach them humility as a condition for
the practice of charity.

A A Tiara is the papal crown,
which is a tall headdress of gold cloth
ornamented with precious
stones, encircled with three coronets and
surmounted by a cross. The
first circlet symbolizes the Pope’s
universal episcopate; the
second, his primacy of jurisdiction; and
the third, is temporal
influence.

A It is a room attached to a
church, usually near the altar, where the
clergy vest for
ecclesiastical functions. The sacristy affords storage
for sacred vessels,
vestments, and other articles needed for
liturgical use.

A it is the sign of peace
offered at Mass. After the priest has prayed
for peace and unity in the
Church, the people are asked to express
their love for one another
before they share the Eucharist.

A It is the proper direction of
human actions to a person’s ultimate end,
namely the eternal destiny.

A It is the concern of dedicated
citizens organized in certain countries
like the United States to
prevent by legal means the use of the media

audience.

means?
A It means the relation between
a human act and the final destiny of a
human being. It is the norm
of behavior that flows from each
person’s ultimate end, which
is the possession of God in the beatific
vision.

Sanctifying Grace?
A The chief effects are: It
makes us holy and pleasing to God.
It makes us adopted children
of God. It makes us temples of the
Holy Spirit and it gives us
the right heaven.

Father who art in heaven”?
A Because we belong to Him, our
loving Father, who created us and
watches over us, who adopts
us through sanctifying grace as His
children, and who destines
us to live forever with Him in heaven,
our true home.

A The community of faith owes
the Pope and bishops respect and
obedience, for in exercising
his office of father and pastor, a bishop
should stand as one who
serves.

“Transubstantiation” mean?
A Transubstantiation means that
Christ himself, true God and
true Man, is really and
substantially present, in a mysterious way,
under the appearances of
bread and wine.

concerning devotion to Mary?
A She urges that special
veneration be given to Mary, due to her as
Mother of Christ, Mother of
the Church and our spiritual Mother.
This veneration is to be
taught by word and example.

Baptism?
A Baptism of Water – the water

A It is a subdivision of a

Christ. It includes jurisdiction in the
external forum (publicly
known) and the internal forum (private
matters of conscience),
whether sacramental or non-sacramental.
58. Q What is Internal Grace?
A It is the supernatural life,
infused virtues and divine inspirations that
directly affect the human
soul and elevate its being and activities to a
share in the life of God.
It is called internal to be distinguished from
external grace that is not
inherently supernatural.
59. Q What does General Examen mean?
A It is a prayerful daily
periodic examination of one’s conscience to
determine what faults have
been committed, which call for
repentance and what good
actions were performed, for which God
should be thanked.
60 Q What does the word Ex Cathedra
mean?
A It is a term commonly applied
to the special and explicit exercise of
papal infallibility. When
the Pope speaks from the chair (cathedra)
of authority, as visible head
of all Christians, his teaching is not
dependant on the consent of
the Church and is irreformable.
