Tanos Joseph was Louisiana Knights of Columbus State Deputy 1958 - 1960

The newly elected State Deputy, Tanos Joseph, 55, was born and educated in Lebanon. He came to the United States at the age of 16, opened his own business when 17, and became a citizen of the United States at 21. A member of the KC for 35 years and of the Fourth Degree for 34 years, he had held many offices in the order, had been in Boy Scout work for the past 33 years, and was both a business and a civic leader in his community. 

Officers elected with Mr. Joseph were George Artigues of Gretna, State Secretary; James Durio of Opelousas, State Treasurer; K. W. Davis of Baton Rouge, State Advocate; and Roy Becnel of Kenner, State Warden. 

Bishop Charles P. Greco of Alexandria, who became State Chaplain in July, 1954, agreed to continue in that post. Named Diocesan Chaplains by their respective Ordinaries were the Very Rev. Msgr. John J. Adams, Archdiocese of New Orleans; the Rt. Rev. Msgr. George Bodin, Lake Charles, Diocese of Lafayette; and the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Leon R. Aycock, Alexandria, Diocese of Alexandria. 

Under State Deputy Joseph the State Executive Secretary assumed the duties of the General Program Chairman and those of the Council Administration Chairman were taken over by the Council Activity Chairman. The special committee on Rituals and Initiations was made a permanent state committee. Two other committees, headed by Past State Deputies, were named‑State Office Building and State Directory.

Martin, Sr.; Insurance, John J. Puissegur; Conservation, Samuel Reggie; Publicity, Thomas I. O'Connor; Rituals and Initiations, Henry Lemmon; Speakers' Bureau, George Karam; Youth Expansion Program, Arthur P. Raymond, Jr., and Robert Laudumiey; Retreats, State, A. M. Bujard; New Orleans archdiocese, Thomas N. Ragusa; Lafayette diocese, Dr. W. J. Brulet; and Alexandria diocese, E. L. Gremillion; Youth Activity, O. A. Pitre; Columbian Squires, A. L. Gaspard; and Catholic Social Principles, Alex Allain.
