Officers elected with Mr. Joseph were George Artigues
of Gretna, State Secretary; James Durio of Opelousas, State Treasurer; K.
W. Davis of Baton Rouge, State Advocate; and Roy Becnel of Kenner, State
Warden.
Bishop Charles P. Greco of Alexandria, who became
State Chaplain in July, 1954, agreed to continue in that post. Named
Diocesan Chaplains by their respective Ordinaries were the Very Rev. Msgr.
John J. Adams, Archdiocese of New Orleans; the Rt. Rev. Msgr. George
Bodin, Lake Charles, Diocese of Lafayette; and the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Leon R.
Aycock, Alexandria, Diocese of Alexandria.
Under State Deputy Joseph the State Executive
Secretary assumed the duties of the General Program Chairman and those of
the Council Administration Chairman were taken over by the Council
Activity Chairman. The special committee on Rituals and Initiations was
made a permanent state committee. Two other committees, headed by Past
State Deputies, were named‑State Office Building and State
Directory.
